Tata Motors, Sterlite Technologies and ICICI Lombard to see some action today

Tata Motors has reported 27 percent growth in its total domestic sales to 49,669 units in October. 2020 The company had sold 39,152 vehicles in October 2019. Passenger vehicle sales during the previous month surged 79 percent to 23,617 cars as compared to 13,169 units in October 2019. Total CV sales grew 2 percent to 28,472 vehicles in October as against 28,002 vehicles in the year-ago period. Commercial vehicle domestic sales stood at 26,052 in the previous month. It was 25,893 units in October 2019. Commercial vehicle exports grew 20 percent during October to 2,420 units against 2,019 a year ago.

Sterlite Technologies (STL) has signed definitive agreements to acquire Optotec S.p.A, a leading Optical Interconnect Products Company based in Italy. The transaction is structured to acquire 100% of Optotec’s shareholding on closing at an enterprise value (EV) of 29 Million euros. The acquisition will create a solid springboard to offer a complete bouquet of solutions to customers across Europe, India and the Middle East.

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the acquisition of general insurance business of Bharti AXA by ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company. Marking a major consolidation move in the insurance space, the proposed deal was announced in August this year. Pursuant to the proposed combination, the entire general insurance business of Bharti AXA would be transferred by way of a demerger to ICICI Lombard in consideration of issuance of shares by ICICI Lombard to Bharti AXA.

Dynamatic Technologies has built the first front fuselage for the Final Operation Clearance (FOC) version of the Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA). This is the first time a complex fuselage section for a supersonic fighter aircraft has been built by a private sector company. The company has been a preferred production partner for Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) for over three decades on all their major platforms.

Zuari Agro Chemicals has resumed the production at its NPK - A Plant with effective from October 31, 2020. With this all Plants of the Company are operational. Earlier, the company had temporarily shut down its plant due to non-availability of bagging workers owing to COVID-19.
