Asian markets end higher on Thursday

05 Nov 2020 Evaluate

Asian markets ended higher on Thursday, tracking gains on wall Street overnight and as Democratic challenger Joe Biden edged closer to becoming the next president of the United States, but the risk of a prolonged contested election remained as Trump's campaign moved to file lawsuits and request for a recount in many states. Chinese shares rose ended higher on expectations of easing Sino-US tensions, while China’s new energy companies are expected to benefit from a Biden presidency as he pledged to invest more in renewable energy. Although, investors are shrugged off slower pace of US private-sector job creation in October and softening services sector activity.
