Copper futures ended higher on Thursday due to optimism around a potential corona virus vaccine after US Pharmaceutical giant Pfizer said the Covid-19 vaccine developed in partnership with BioNTech was found to be 95% effective in the final analysis of the phase 3 trial. Although, some gains were capped by concerns over the pandemic situation in Europe and the United States, that is still severe.
Copper futures for December delivery gained $0.0040 to settle at $3.2020 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up 0.06% at $7,093 a ton.
