In Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) polling for the second phase of District Development Council (DDC) has concluded. Voting took place in 43 DDC constituencies in this phase. Of this, 25 are in Kashmir valley and 18 in Jammu division. More than 7 lakh 90 thousand voters were eligible to cast their votes to decide the fate of 321 candidates.
The first phase of 8-phased DDC election in the UT saw 52% voter turnout on Saturday. It may be mentioned that DDC election is the first ever electoral process post nullifying of Article 370 and reorganization of the State into two Union Territories.
