Gold futures finished sharply higher on Tuesday bounced from previous session’s five month lower rate, kindled by the technical buying and on inflation hedge appeal of the bullion counting on the possibility for further US stimulus measures.
Gold futures for February delivery rose by 2.1% or $38 to settle at $1,818.90 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold climbed 2.1% to $1,814.99 per ounce.
