Gold futures ended higher near three week high level on Tuesday, kindled by the risk aversion in the market which dulled bond yields and the US currency. Meanwhile, prospects of coronavirus vaccine roll out lifted the inflation hedge appeal of the bullion.
Gold futures for February delivery rose by 0.50% or $8.90 to settle at $1874.90 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold rose was little changed at $1,864.60 per ounce.
