Coal India trades with traction on the BSE

Coal India (CIL) is currently trading at Rs. 136.60, up by 2.40 points or 1.79% from its previous closing of Rs. 134.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 135.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 137.40 and Rs. 134.60 respectively. So far 320620 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 214.50 on 15-Jan-2020 and a 52 week low of Rs. 109.50 on 15-Oct-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 138.00 and Rs. 126.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 84090.43 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 66.13%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 29.10% and 4.69% respectively.

Coal India’s coal allocation to the power sector under special e-auction registered a 27.7 percent rise to 16.48 million tonnes (MT) in the April-October 2020 period. The company had allocated 12.90 MT of coal to the sector in the year-ago period.

The coal allocation by the company in October also increased to 6.51 MT, over 1.97 MT in the corresponding month of the previous fiscal. Coal distribution through forward e-auction is aimed at providing access to coal for such consumers who wish to have an assured supply over a long period, say one year, through e-auction mode so as to plan their operation.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
