Gold futures finished lower on Wednesday, retreating from previous session’s three week high rate whetted by the risk appetite in the market counting on optimism over COVID-19 vaccine developments. Stronger dollar also weighed down on yellow metal buying.
Gold futures for February delivery rose by 1.90% or $36.40 to settle at $1838.50 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold rose was little changed at $1,864.60 per ounce.
