Copper futures ended higher on Friday, driven by optimism about global economic recovery after positive news about Covid-19 vaccines, although investors remain focused on the $900 billion corona virus relief package still being debated in congress. Further, dwindling inventories also supported copper prices.
Copper futures for March delivery gained $0.0310 to settle at $3.6325 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up 0.82% at $7,985 a ton.
