Copper futures traded lower on Monday as firm US dollar amid tightening Covid-19 lock-downs globally led to weakness in metal prices. Though, some losses were capped by news that the United States was inching closer to a stimulus bill to support the US economy.
Copper futures for March delivery lost $0.0295 at $3.6030 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down 0.6% at $7,938 a ton.
