Physical Rubber prices showed weakness on Wednesday as rising supply amid peak production season kept the rubber prices under pressure. Further, worries over surging corona virus infections driven by a new variant of the virus also weighed sentiment. However, expectations of swift global economic recovery supported prices and capped the fall. Spot prices for RSS-4 variety fell to 155/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 156/ kg; while the RSS-5 variety declined to 144/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 145/ kg.
In the futures market, January delivery lost to Rs 155 compared to its previous closing of Rs 157.32, on the Indian Commodity Exchange Limited (ICEX).
