Bharti Airtel to use Aadhaar for mobile connections

Bharti Airtel, a leading global telecommunications company with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa has decided to use Aadhaar (unique identity number) for providing mobile phone connections. There are nearly 21 crore people with Aadhaar numbers in the country. The company has sent the proposal to Department of Telecommunication for the same and it is studying whether Aadhaar can be used for address verification or not.
