Physical Rubber prices witness weakness on Monday

Physical Rubber prices showed weakness on Monday as rising arrivals amid the ongoing peak tapping season kept the rubber prices under pressure. Further, sluggish demand from domestic buyers also weighed on rubber prices.

Spot prices for RSS-4 variety fell to 151/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 152/ kg; while the RSS-5 variety declined to 141/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 142/ kg. In the futures market, February delivery lost to Rs 154.90 compared to its previous closing of Rs 155.32 on the Indian Commodity Exchange Limited (ICEX).
