Copper futures ended higher on Tuesday as dollar weakened against its major peers following comments from Janet Yellen, US President-elect Biden’s nominee for Treasury Secretary on the need for major fiscal stimulus. However, worries over surging virus infections in major economies capped some gains.
Copper futures for March delivery gained $0.0315 at $3.6335 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down 0.22% at $7,954 a ton.
