Paddy procurement in Punjab reaches 46.52 lakh metric tonnes

In the ongoing crop procurement season the paddy lifting in Punjab and Haryana has reached 46.52 lakh metric tonnes and 24.45 lakh metric tonnes respectively. Out of the total procurement the government agencies lifted 42.19 lakh metric tonnes and private traders 4.33 lakh metric tonnes of paddy in Punjab state.

Out of the total arrival of 24.45 lakh tonnes of paddy in Haryana, six government agencies had so far lifted over 23.14 lakh metric tonnes of paddy while the remaining 1.30 lakh metric tonnes were procured by the millers.
