Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Safran Aircraft Engines, France at Aero India 2021 to explore opportunities for strategic business cooperation that leverage the complementary talents and capabilities of the both parties and support development of a robust ecosystem for aero-engines in India, consistent with the goals of the Government of India's Make in India initiative.
The MoU's scope encompasses a wide spectrum including transfer of key manufacturing technologies, manufacturing & MR0 of M88 (Rafale) and other engines, development and production of high thrust aero-engines related to cooperation.
HAL is Bengaluru based Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSU) Company engaged in the design, development, manufacture, repair, overhaul, upgrade and servicing of a wide range of products including, aircraft, helicopters, aero-engines, avionics, accessories and aerospace structures.
