Gold futures modestly higher on Friday, rebounding from a four month lowest finish in the previous session followed by a slower than expected monthly US employment data and on hopes of the likelihood for a second US COVID-19 economic stimulus package approval. Further, a weaker dollar also buoyed the yellow metal buying. The bullion for the most-active contract logged a 2% loss for a week.
Gold futures for April delivery rose $21.80, or 1.2%, to settle at $1,813.00 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold climbed 1% to $1,810.26 per ounce.
