Copper futures finish higher on improved demand

11 Feb 2021 Evaluate

Copper futures ended higher on Wednesday amid improved global demand with hopes for $1.9 trillion stimulus package from United States, which could boost the recovery of the biggest economy. Further, tight inventories and weakness in American dollar too supported copper prices’ uptrend.

Copper futures for March delivery gained $0.0525 to settle at $3.7725 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up 1.87% at $8,299.50 a ton.
