Mallikarjun Kharge to be leader of opposition in RS: Congress

Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge will succeed Ghulam Nabi Azad as Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha (RS). The party has submitted to RS Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu the name of Kharge for the post.

kharge, who was leader of the Congress party in Lok Sabha (LS), has served as Union Cabinet Minister-Labour and Employment, also Railways and Social Justice and Empowerment in the Manmohan Singh-led UPA government. He was also president of Karnataka Congress and leader of opposition in the state assembly.
