ONGC gains despite reporting 47% fall in Q3 consolidated net profit

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is currently trading at Rs. 98.55, up by 1.55 points or 1.60% from its previous closing of Rs. 97.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 97.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 99.10 and Rs. 95.60 respectively. So far 854181 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 107.85 on 13-Feb-2020 and a 52 week low of Rs. 51.80 on 13-Mar-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 103.30 and Rs. 95.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 122280.31 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 60.41%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.38% and 14.21% respectively.

ONGC has reported a fall of 67.39% in its net profit at Rs 1378.23 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2020 as compared to net profit at Rs 4226.45 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company decreased by 27.36% at Rs 18242.21 crore for Q3FY21 as compared Rs 25112.55 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

On the consolidated basis, the company has reported a fall of 46.91% in its net profit attributable to owners at Rs 2643.17 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2020 as compared to net profit at Rs 4979.11 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company decreased by 7.92% at Rs 102416.51 crore for Q3FY21 as compared Rs 111225.46 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
