TVS Motor Company, Power Grid and CEAT to see some action today

TVS Motor Company has launched the TVS NTORQ 125 SuperSquad Edition inspired by Marvel’s Avengers in Nepal. The company has associated with Disney India’s consumer products business to introduce a special SuperSquad edition of TVS NTORQ 125 – Nepal’s first Bluetooth connected scooter, inspired by the iconic Marvel Super Heroes. The SuperSquad Edition will comprise three new enticing offerings, namely Invincible Red, Stealth Black, and Combat Blue inspired by Iron Man, Black Panther, and Captain America respectively. The edition brings forth finer nuances associated with each Marvel Super Hero through the product design.

Power Grid Corporation of India’s board has approved a proposal to acquire 74 percent stake of the joint venture partner in Jaypee Powergrid (JPL). JPL is a joint venture between Power Grid and Jaiprakash Power Ventures. Post acquisition of the 74 percent stake, JPL would become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Power Grid. The acquisition would be completed within the current fiscal year. The proposal for the acquisition was approved by the board of Power Grid in a meeting on February 11, 2021.

CEAT has roped in actor Rana Daggubati as its brand ambassador for promoting the 'Puncture Safe' range of bike tyres. As part of an integrated marketing campaign across all five southern states, Daggubati will feature in the new commercial for these tyres to be aired across TV and digital platforms. The company has launched the tyres for motorcycles in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, it said. The new commercial will also be aired during the ongoing India-England Test series.

Sterling and Wilson Solar has signed an order worth $127.5 million (Rs 930 crore) in the Kom Ombo region of Egypt. The order has been received from Saudi Arabia’s leading renewable energy company and is scheduled to be commissioned by Q1 2022. The company has already executed five projects of over 322 MWp in Benban Solar Park in Egypt.

Amara Raja Batteries’ board has approved setting up a greenfield lead acid recycling plant with an estimated capacity of 1 lakh tonnes p.a at a total outlay of Rs 280 crores to be spent over the next 18 months. This will help the company comply with recycling standards whilst adopting advance technology in the most environmentally friendly manner. The company is also setting up a 50MW solar captive power plant in Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh at a total outlay of Rs 220 crore to support the sustainability initiatives of the company.

Enabling smooth travel and safety of commuters, ABB India has provided active front end variable speed drives (VSDs) for the ventilation system of Chennai metro line, a key infrastructure project that connects major areas in the city. The Chennai metro takes the planned urbanization agenda a step forward with the opening of the 9-kmlong extension. The new line will allow passengers to travel from the northern part of the city to Chennai International Airport in the south in around one hour, and will play a key role in easing the road traffic and enhancing public transportation.

Indiabulls Housing Finance is looking to raise Rs 5,000 crore through the securitisation route in the fourth quarter of the current financial year (Q4FY21). In the three months ended December 31, 2020, the company had raised around Rs 2,000 crore through the route.  Overall, in 2020-21, the company has raised a total of Rs 28,119 crore through equity, bank lines, bonds and loan sell-downs.

Titagarh Wagons (TWL) has been awarded a contract for construction and supply of five Diving Support Craft (DSC) from the Indian Navy. The value of order is about Rs 174.76 crore only. As per the contract, the DSC has to be supplied within 30 months approximately.
