Copper futures ended higher on Monday amid stronger than expected demand from the world’s top metals consumer China. Further, expectations of $1.9 trillion in fiscal stimulus to shore up the US economy also supported copper prices’ uptrend.
Copper futures for March delivery gained $0.0165 to settle at $3.7880 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up 0.74% at $8,393.50 a ton.
