Gold futures finished lower for fifth straight session on Monday, as the increased risk appetite and the stronger dollar weighed down the bullion investments. Moreover, economic recovery outlook and the promising updates on COVID-19 vaccines lifted risk sentiment in wider financial markets.
Gold futures for April delivery dipped by 0.3% or $5.8 to settle at $1,723.00 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold was down 0.6% at $1,723.30 per ounce.
