Nalco tumbles on reporting 97% drop in Q2 net profit

National Aluminium Company (Nalco) is currently trading at Rs. 47.45, down by 2.10 points or 4.24% from its previous closing of Rs. 49.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 48.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 48.00 and Rs. 45.40 respectively. So far 134313 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 68.45 on 16-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 48.00 on 24-Nov-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 50.75 and Rs. 45.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 12267.66 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 87.15% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 9.12% and 3.74% respectively.

National Aluminium Company (Nalco) has reported results for second quarter ended September 30, 2012.

The company has posted a fall of 96.57% in its net profit at Rs 4.78 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 139.34 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income has increased marginally by 0.14% at Rs 1747.42 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 1744.91 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2011.
