Gold futures finish higher on Fed decision

19 Mar 2021 Evaluate
Gold futures finished higher on Thursday, rebounding from previous session loss with the US Federal Reserve’s decision to keep the interest rates near zero in an effort to keep the economic recovery on track even if inflation breached its 2% target this year. Inflation hedge appeal of the bullion also buoyed the yellow metal further. However, firmer dollar limited gains of the precious metal.

Gold futures for April rose by 0.3% to settle at $1,732.50 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold was down 0.7% at $1,732.99 per ounce.
