Copper futures traded higher on Monday, supported by optimism about a swift recovery in global economy along with positive Chinese economic cues. However, continued selling pressure and increased inventories at LME warehouses have capped further gains in copper prices.

Copper futures for May delivery gained $0.0010 at $4.1140 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange.
