Voltas rises on expecting strong double-digit growth in air conditioners sales in FY21

Voltas is currently trading at Rs. 998.45, up by 18.20 points or 1.86% from its previous closing of Rs. 980.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 985.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 999.20 and Rs. 972.80 respectively. So far 28402 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1131.20 on 12-Feb-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 428.00 on 06-May-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1079.90 and Rs. 962.75 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 32995.83 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 30.30%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 51.91% and 17.54% respectively.

Voltas is expecting a strong double-digit growth in sales of air conditioners this year on account of buoyant summer and hybrid working model adopted by people in the backdrop of the Covid pandemic.

The company attained the pre-Covid sales numbers during the festival season last year and expects to continue with the positive momentum this summer. It is also witnessing an increase in sales in smaller towns. Its present AC sales between the metros and non-metros are in the ratio of 55:45, but the company is expecting this number to be reversed in the future. Anticipating a major growth in demand from those markets, it has recently opened several brand shops.
