Gold futures finished higher on Wednesday, due to technical buying after 2 sessional losses and on safe haven appeal of the bullion in midst of worries over slow economic recovery with a new wave of coronavirus infections and a fresh lockdown in Germany. Besides, softer treasury yields and affirmation of dovish stance from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell in the testimony also lifted the yellow metal.
Gold futures for April rose by 0.5% to settle at $1,733.20 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold up by 0.4% to $1,734.36 per ounce.
