Coal India rises on loading average 312 rakes per day in March so far

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 131.70, up by 2.15 points or 1.66% from its previous closing of Rs. 129.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 130.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 132.20 and Rs. 130.20 respectively. So far 149134 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 162.95 on 26-Feb-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 109.50 on 15-Oct-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 137.50 and Rs. 127.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 81286.39 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 66.13%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.73% and 5.14% respectively.

Coal India (CIL) has loaded an average 312 rakes per day in March so far, registering a growth of 24.6 percent.  Similarly, average loading to the power sector clocked 22.7 percent growth in March so far at 269.2 rakes compared to 219.4 rakes in the same period last year.

After the company’s supplies shrunk by 21 per cent amid Covid-19 triggered downward spiral in the first quarter, the company bounced back strongly by registering 6 per cent growth from July 2020 onwards till now.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
