Bharat Electronics reports 35.83% fall in Q2 net profit

Bharat Electronics has reported results for second quarter ended September 30, 2012. 

The company has posted a fall of 35.83% in its net profit at Rs 80.21 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 125.00 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income also decreased by 1.27% at Rs 1207.98 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 1223.57 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2011.

Bharat Electronics (BEL) was set up at Bangalore by the Government of India under the Ministry of Defence in 1954 to meet the specialised electronic needs of the Indian defence services. Over the years, it has grown into a multi-product, multi-technology, multi-unit company serving the needs of customers in diverse fields in India and abroad.
