Asian markets end in red on Wednesday

21 Apr 2021 Evaluate
Asian markets ended in red on Wednesday blenched by the record coronavirus infections world-wide dulling the prospects for a quick economic recovery. Energy and technological sector shares are the major losers in the session. Travel-related stocks also paced the decliners. Shanghai stocks erased its earlier losses in the session to finish at a largely unchanged position as the investors embraced better than expected earnings results from some key banks. Nikkei however extended its bearish settlement to the second straight session as the country is facing massive restrictive measures amid fourth wave of corona infections and also in doubt over Tokyo Olympics.
