Physical Rubber prices extend weakness on Wednesday

Physical Rubber prices extended weakness on Wednesday, driven by demand worries following resurgence in corona-virus cases that continued to cast its dark shadow over the investor outlook. Though, rubber supply shortage issues capped further fall in rubber prices.

Spot prices for RSS-4 variety declined to Rs 163/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 164/ kg; while the RSS-5 variety remained unchanged at Rs 158/ kg. In the futures market, May delivery gained to Rs 165.90 compared to its previous closing of Rs 165.66 on the Indian Commodity Exchange Limited (ICEX).
