In the poll-bound West Bengal (WB) polling for the 8th Phase of Assembly Elections is progressing. The average voter turnout was registered at 56.2 per cent till noon in 35 seats spread over 4 districts. Over 84.77 lakh voters will decide the political fate of 283 candidates in this phase including 35 women are in the fray in the last phase of the West Bengal polls. Election Commission (EC) have been made high-security arrangements in view of the violence in the previous phases and also all precautionary measures are taken for raising concern over the spread of the infection. The polling, which began at 7.00 am will be conducted till 6.30 pm. The eight-phase elections to the 294-member assembly began on March 27. The counting of votes will be taken up together on May 2.
