Gold futures finish higher on Thursday

14 May 2021 Evaluate
Gold futures rebounded on Thursday after two consecutive losses in the past sessions, lifted by the hedge appeal of the bullion after the US Treasury bond yields eased and on anticipation of a steep correction in stock market. Meanwhile, weekly jobless claims fell 34,000 to 473,000 and the Wednesday's data showing US consumer prices rose the most in nearly 12 years last month, supported the yellow metal.

Gold futures for June climbed by $1.20 or 0.1% to settle at $1,824.00 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold was up 0.5% to $1,824.89 per ounce.
