Physical Rubber prices witnessed improvement on Monday following supply shortages globally, while bargain hunting at lower levels also supported rubber prices. However, growing number of Covid-19 cases in Kerala, largest rubber producing state in India, capped some gains.
Spot prices for RSS-4 variety gained to Rs 172/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 169/ kg; while the RSS-5 variety rose to Rs 169/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 166/ kg.
In the futures market, June delivery gained to Rs 173.60 compared to its previous closing of Rs 172.54 on the Indian Commodity Exchange Limited (ICEX).
