Copper futures ended higher on Monday, even after weak factory data from world’s top metals consumer China. Further, threat of strikes at mines in Chile, the world’s top copper producer supported copper prices’ uptrend. Moreover, weakness in the American currency also benefited metal prices.
Copper futures for July delivery gained $0.0570 to settle at $4.7115 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up 1.29% at $10,373 a ton.
