Copper future end higher on weak dollar

25 May 2021 Evaluate

Copper futures ended higher on Monday as weak US dollar makes dollar-priced metals cheaper for holders of other currencies and that potentially boosted red metal demand. However, some gains were capped by concerns over China policy action to curb rising industrial metal prices in the world’s top metal consumer.

Copper futures for July delivery gained $0.0445 to settle at $4.5255 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up 0.66 percent at $9,947 a ton.
