Gold futures finished higher on Monday, highest level since January 7 as the easing trend in dollar and US Treasury yields kindled opportunity cost of non-interest bearing bullion. Softer dollar made the yellow metal less costlier for other currency holders. Meanwhile, the market awaited for more cues from US inflation data which is due this week. Additionally, dip in bitcoin also lifted the precious metal.
Gold futures for June rose by 0.4%, or $7.80 to settle at $1,884.50 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold was up 0.1% at $1,882.83 per ounce.
