Copper futures ended higher on Wednesday, even as the US dollar rallied against major currencies overnight and investors are continued to monitor the inflation outlook. Further, concerns over global supplies along with potential labour strikes at the world's biggest copper mine in Chile supported copper prices’ uptrend.
Copper futures for July delivery gained $0.0230 to settle at $4.5295 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up 0.62 percent at $9,979 a ton.
