Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works has received work order from Indian Ports Dredging, for 'Reuse of dredged material for land filling arising out of dredging by Grab Dredger 'River Pearl 2' at Kolkata Port for a period of one year. The additional compensation over and above the per day hire and per hour of operation shall be Rs 18,000 per barge load of 1500 MT.
The dredge material is being used for land filling by Srijan Reality, Kolkata. The requirement is in excess of 2 Million Tons. This work is a special initiative by Ministry of Shipping to find alternate use for dredged material instead of disposing it offshore in deeper waters.
The company is engaged in the business of owning and operating of Marine Crafts for dredging along with repairs and maintenance/refits of Marine Crafts and Marine Infrastructure.
