Gold futures settled slightly lower on Tuesday, retreating from the five month peak rate as the better than expected US manufacturing data and rebound in US treasury yield notes dulled the investment appeal of the bullion.
Gold futures for August was down by 0.02% or 30 cents to settle at $1,905.00 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold down by 0.3% at $1,902.05 per ounce.
