Copper futures ended lower on Tuesday due to weak demand at world’s top metal consumer China, even as factory activity in China expanded at the fastest pace in a year. However, weaker dollar makes dollar-priced metals cheaper to holders of other currencies capped losses.
Copper futures for July delivery fell $0.0240 to settle at $4.6535 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down 0.13 percent at $10,245 a ton.
