TCS gains on targeting net zero emissions by 2030

Tata Consultancy Services is currently trading at Rs. 3134.85, up by 5.55 points or 0.18% from its previous closing of Rs. 3129.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 3150.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 3154.95 and Rs. 3122.40 respectively. So far 25834 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 3358.80 on 09-Apr-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 2000.60 on 15-Jun-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 3197.65 and Rs. 3116.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1157803.08 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 72.19%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 23.51% and 4.31% respectively.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is planning to reduce its absolute greenhouse gas emissions across Scope 1 and Scope 2 by 70% by 2025 (over 2016 base year), and to achieve net zero emissions by 2030.

In its recently published Integrated Annual Report 2020-21, the company has set forth this new carbon reduction goal after having achieved the previous target of reducing its specific carbon footprint by half by 2020 (versus baseline year FY 2008), ahead of schedule. In FY 2021, TCS’ specific carbon footprint across Scope 1 and Scope 2 was lower by 61.6% compared to baseline year FY 2008.
