Copper futures ended lower on Thursday as dollar strengthened against its rivals by stronger-than-expected US jobs data pointed to strengthening conditions in the labour market. Further, weak demand from the world’s top metal consumer China too weighed on red metal prices.
Copper futures for July delivery fell $0.1285 to settle at $4.4630 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down 3.54 percent at $9,788.50 a ton.
