Gold futures traded lower in early trades of Monday, weighed down by the stronger greenback which made the dollar denominated bullion expensive for other currency holders. Although, losses remained trimmed amid dulled US Treasury yield notes and on prospects for an interest rate hike amid rising inflation. The yellow metal for the most active contract had posted weekly loss of about 0.7%, after previous four straight weekly gains.
Gold futures for August dipped by 0.1% to $1,889.60 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold slipped by 0.2% at $1,886.76 per ounce.
