As per the preliminary data from the Ministry of Agriculture, the sowing of Rabi Crops has commenced in some parts of the country. The preliminary data received from different states shows that pulses have been grown in 18.79 lakh hectare so far.
This acreage is more than doubled of the average area under pulses at this time of the year which stands at around 9.08 lakh hectare but is lower than the acreage of this time compared to last year which stood at 27.23 lakh hectare.
Besides, compared to the normal area which stood at around 23.56 lakh hectare, the oilseeds have been shown in 21.81 lakh hectare and area shown at this time last year stood at 20.15 lakh hectare.
