The Maharashtra government today decided to curtail the monsoon session of the assembly and hold it for just two days due to corona virus pandemic. This would be the third time under the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) that an assembly session has been curtailed to just two days. The BJP opposed the move and stated that the government was trying to avoid answering questions using pandemic as an excuse. The Former CM Devendra Fadnavis and other BJP leaders opposed the government’s plan and walked out during the Business Advisory Committee meeting which was held on Tuesday. In this session, the state has decided to suspend the question hour as well as the facilities of submitting written questions and the calling attention motion. The session will start on July 5, 2021.
