Asian Markets trade mostly higher in early deals on Monday

Most of the Asian equity benchmarks traded higher in early deals on Monday, in tandem with the positive trend in Wall street on Friday. Technical correction at prevailing levels lifted the sentiments. Financial, miners and energy sector stocks gained in the session. Technological stocks appeared to be in mixed trend. Japan’s Nikkei rebounded modestly after previous sessional losses, with the benchmark just above the 28,540 level. Among the Asian markets, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, and China, are trading lower. Bucking the trend, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Malaysia are trading higher.

Nikkei 225 up by 609.10 points or 2.18% to 28,549.52, Straits Times slipped 7.94 points or 0.25% to 3,139.34, Hang Seng lower by 185.82 points or 0.68% to 27,530.36, Jakarta Composite added by 49.19 points 0.81% to 6,089.03, KOSPI curtailed 31.68 points or 0.98% to 3,249.63, Taiwan Weighted rose by 162.27 points or 0.92% to 17,823.75 and Shanghai Composite dipped by 32.73 points or 0.93% to 3,556.93.

On the flip side, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI down by 5.63 points 0.37% to 1,514.95.
