Karnataka: BJP deputes Dharmendra Pradhan, Kishan Reddy as central observers

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has deputed Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and G Kishan Reddy to the state as central observers to finalise the name of the new Chief Minister after the resignation of BS Yediyurappa from the post of Karnataka Chief Minister (CM). The legislative party meeting will be held today at 7.30 pm to elect a new leader. The two senior leaders will interact with state BJP legislators and senior party leadership for finalising the new CM of Karnataka. 

 The central observers are also likely to interact with Yediyurappa who has strong clout in the state. Yesterday was Yediyurappa submitted the resignation as Karnataka CM to Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot. He was the first CM of BJP in South India.The state is scheduled to go for assembly polls in 2023.
