The government has granted auto fuel retailing license to seven new entities including Reliance Industries and Reliance BP Mobility (RBML) -- a joint venture of Reliance and BP. The licenses were given under a new liberalized rule that allows any entity with a minimum net worth of Rs 250 crore to apply for authorization to retail petrol and diesel. The company already had a fuel retailing license, under which it had set up over 1,400 petrol pumps in the country. But this license was transferred to its subsidiary Reliance BP Mobility.
Reliance Industries is India’s largest private sector company. The company’s activities span hydrocarbon exploration and production, petroleum refining and marketing, petrochemicals, retail and 4G digital services.
